2018 Recap
2018 has been a very
intense and successful year for the Trackener team.
We kept learning, improving
our product and growing the Trackener community. Here are some highlights:
- After unexpected technical problems and delays on the way (yes, hardware is really hard…), we finally delivered our product to the first customers!! It has been very satisfying to receive great feedback from them and to hear how Trackener is helping them to take the best care of their horses. Throughout 2018 we got on board horse owners of all levels, professional riders (including Olympic medallists!) in various disciplines, equine hospitals and independent healthcare professionals. We can’t wait to keep growing this community of users of the product!
- Over 15,000 hours of fascinating
insights were collected on
horses of all shapes, sizes and disciplines. We keep
discovering new things about their sleep and activity in the field and in
the stable, and can’t wait to reveal more interesting analysis about the
horses’ behaviour in 2019!
- We partnered with
several veterinary and equine science universities to enable some
exciting research work. The University of Liverpool Institute of Veterinary Science has
been working with us on the use of Trackener Life for the detection of
colic (the most fatal health issue in horses). Hartpury University has been running
some research projects to scientifically validate the use of our product
for an optimal management of the horse, helping to optimise the time in
the field and exercise sessions to keep the horse in top physical and
mental health. In 2019 we will continue to work with these universities as
well as with the Royal Veterinary College, the University of Nottingham,
and more and more equine science colleges. Our objective is
that our technology can help advance early detection and prevention of
equine health issues, and working with experts in this area is key for
that.
- We got featured in 8 press
articles in Horse and Hound, The Animal Health Journal, Cheval Magazine,
HealthInvestor to name a few! Stay posted for more coming soon…
- We were part of the Spinlab sports innovation programme, which enabled us to meet some great people and to learn from other people’s experience in the sports tech sector. We were also selected by the Japan External Trade Organisation to exhibit at CEATEC and met there some potential future partners for the hardware part of the product and for selling the product in Japan, a big market in racing.
We now
just got on board the London&Partners Business Growth Programme and
can’t wait to continue learning and progressing in our startup journey thanks
to insightful workshops and discussions with experts in 2019.
We are currently raising funds to progress further and quicker in our
mission to revolutionise equine care with data and technology. Don’t hesitate
to get in touch if you’d like to discuss about it.
A big
thank you!
As we always say, Trackener
wouldn’t be anything without all the people who have been supporting us along
the way: mentors, advisors, investors, vets, researchers, tech experts,
testers, customers…thanks for trusting us, giving us a bit of your time and
believing in our idea that it is time to bring technology to the equine world
for good.
We’re looking forward to continuing this exciting journey
together!
